Jab Tak Hai Jaan is an upcoming 2012 Indian romantic film directed by Yash Chopra, written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner Yash Raj Films. The film features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, making it the first film to pair Khan & Kaif and the second collaboration between Khan & Sharma after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. It is Yash Chopra's fourth film to feature Shahrukh Khan in the lead role and it marks his return as a director after eight years. Chopra's last film was Veer-Zaara in 2004.

The soundtrack of Jab Tak Hai Jaan begins with Challa, a song that has elicited a wide range of reactions ever since its video released on YouTube three weeks ago. Keeping aside the jarring visuals of Shahrukh Khan clumsily strumming the guitar, the song — a simplistic acoustic rock track — doesn’t disappoint. It may not come across as a typical, grand AR Rahman production, while the lyrics are penned by Gulzar. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on the six-day Diwali weekend which begins on November 13, 2012.

Chopra's disclosure, made at an event marking his 80th birthday with actor Shah Rukh Khan by his side, took the Indian film industry by surprise.
